Buju Banton, Jamaica's reggae superstar, real name Mark Myrie is guilty on three cocaine related charges. A 12 member jury a short while ago delivered the verdict in the Sam M Gibbons building in Tampa, Florida.
Although Buju Banton was claiming innocence throughout saying he played no part in any conspiracy to possess cocaine, this did not help.
1. Buju Banton was found guilty on conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine.
2. He was also found guilty for attempting to possess five kilograms or more of cocaine.
3. He was found guilty for aiding and abetting others in using a communication facility in the commission of a felony.
4. He was found not guilty for knowingly and intentionally possessing a firearm in furtherance of and during the course of a drug-trafficking crime.
SO VERY SAD!!! SHOULD HAVE EXERCISED WISDOM IN RULING HIS DESTINY...AS A JAMAICAN, I'M PRETTY SURE BUJU IS FAMILIAR WITH THE SAYING - "PARROT GOT SHOT BECAUSE HE WAS AMONGST THE CROW" AND "SHOW ME YOUR COMPANY AND I'LL KNOW WHO YOU ARE" - I DO FEEL SO MUCH FOR YOU MY JAMAICAN BROTHER AND I REMAIN INSPIRED BY SOME OF THE LYRICS TO YOUR SONGS.
